BIODATA

Ali Salman Saleh, Dr
BA (Ec.) (Hons) (Lebanese Uni), MCom (Hons), Ph.D. (Ec.) (Wollongong)


Dr. Ali is a Lecturer in Economics at the School of Business , Monash University Malaysia . Prior to his current appointment, he taught at University of Wollongong , Australia where he obtained his Ph.D. He also holds a BA in Economics (Hons) from Lebanese University and Mcom (Hons) from University of Wollongong .

Dr. Ali was awarded the intensely contested University Postgraduate Award (UPA) from University of Wollongong , Australia for the period for his doctorate studies. He was also a member in the Postgraduate Committee as Postgraduate Representative at the school of Economics and Information System. Dr. Ali is also a referee and a member of editorial board to many international journals such as International Review of Business Research paper, Journal of Asia Entrepreneurship and Sustainability, etc. He is also a Fellow at World Business Institute, Melbourne (Australia), a member of many organizing conference committee (such as International Business Research Conference etc), and a member of Economic Society of Australia.

As an active researcher, Dr. Ali has presented and published over 20 research papers. Dr. Ali's work has been published in international refereed journals such as The Singapore Economic Review, South Asia Economic Journal, Review of Islamic Economics (UK), and many other journals. His thesis under the title of "Public Sectors Deficits and Macroeconomic Performance in Lebanon" is forthcoming as a Book with ICFAI University Press.

Dr. Ali also has been invited and presented at many international conferences. Recently he has been invited to present at an international conference organised by Macquarie University , Sydney , Australia (2005). His works have also been presented at Australian National University (2002), Victoria University of Technology, Melbourne (2004), University of Santiago (Chile, 2005), Singapore Economic Review Conference (2005), St. Hugh's College, Oxford University (UK, 2005), etc.

Research Interest

Economic modelling, Applied Economics, Public Sector Deficits and Macroeconomic Performance in Middle East and South Asia, SMEs in ASEAN region, Islamic Banking in Malaysia and Middle East countries, Trade and Macroeconomic Performance in the ASEAN region.
