Research takes centre-stage at the School of Business. The School has an excellent research infrastructure coupled with a stimulating research culture driven by committed researchers, supported by a team of dedicated administrators.

Researchers in the School regularly publish papers in international journals and present their work at major national and international conferences. Monash Halal Ecosystem

An initiative of our School of Business, the Monash Halal Ecosystem is a dynamic system, embedded in a network of businesses, institutions, government agencies and non-government organisations. This focused program examines ways to incorporate Islamic and halal thinking into a broad range of macro business issues of pressing national, regional and global importance.

Through the Monash Halal Ecosystem Model, lead researcher Professor Pervaiz Ahmed and his team have embarked on several projects, including understanding the meaning and significance of halal for Muslim and non-Muslim consumers, identifying behavioural patterns in different halal market segments and researching into molecular and chemical methods for halal food provenance.

Social & Economic Transformation in Asia

Social & Economic Transformation in Asia (SETA) is a multi-disciplinary platform that fosters cuttingedge research, meaningful dialogues and innovative educational endeavours on key issues that ensure sustainable development in the region. Through these varied engagements, SETA provide scholars and public intellectuals a vibrant forum to study and reflect on the changing face of Asia. This creates opportunities for industrial and economic development and poses challenges for governments. Included are: competition for resources and associated territorial disputes, broad wealth distributions, and pollution.
